46 years documented, today 8 March 2017 a report of production trials dating back to 1971 has been found.
At that time, Mr Gualtiero Mazzoni had the intuition to meet the needs of the canning industries in Italy with the overproduction of local strawberries of excellent quality and skilled labour.
The first transformations in the ‘70s took place in a warehouse in San Lazzaro di Savena in the province of Bologna. The quality of the finished product is perfectly reported in the document, with details on organoleptic quality, brix, colour, acidity, taste.
The strawberries were of the Gorella variety, typically grown in the province of Ferrara.
